Make sure that the leather is soft, plentiful, high resilient, and luminous. The grains should be consistent in one pair of shoes. The length, width, and thickness should be basically consistent and symmetrical within one pair of shoes. The entire shoes should be straight, clean, and without distortion.

The tread of man's leather shoes are usually made of rubber, imitated skin, and polyurethane. At present the most popular is the imitated skin tread. The natural leather treads are few, and are only used in the upscale shoes.
